TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please note, these terms and conditions are in addition to those outlined by supplying principals; airlines, cruise liners, wholesalers and the likes.
Cruisescene is a licensed travel agency, member of the Donna Barlow Travel Pty Ltd Group operating in registered offices in North Ryde NSW.
The function of Cruisescene is to provide the cruising traveller public with cruises and cruise/travel related products through past-passenger bases, referrals and advertising.
Much of our advertising is undertaken in partnership with suppliers and wholesalers in various medians as well as website promotions.
Products are offered in good faith and are available at the prices advertised to the best of our knowledge however Cruisescene may not be held responsible for errors and/or omissions that may occur from time to time relating to misprints, incorrect information about a product or products in any way nor can it be held responsible for a product or products not being available at the time of your enquiry or booking.
AVAILABILITY
Like any advertised product, cruise/cabin availability is limited in numbers and by the type of category being advertised, and will sell out fast. In the event a cabin in the advertised category is no longer available at the price advertised, Cruisescene will offer the next (more expensive) category that is available at that time. It is then up to the customer to decide whether or not they want to proceed with the booking and request that 'space' be held on their behalf. We recommend you have us "take an option" (obligation free) reservation for you during which time you may decide however cruise lines and wholesalers reserve the right to cancel an option without notice if a decision deadline (usually 4 business days) is not met.
ADVERTISING
Because a cruise product (namely itineraries & cabins) are restricted on any one ship, and that cruise agents around the world sell from the same inventory, advertised products may be made redundant during the time of compiling and publishing an ad.
Whilst all care is taken to promote a product that is available at the time an ad goes to air, Cruisescene can not be held responsible for products and/or services withdrawn, with or without notice from a cruise line/wholesaler, tours or cruises cancelled for various reasons, nor can it be held accountable for increases in charges relating to taxes, port charges and charges associated with fuel levies and/or increases during the time a deposit is paid and final payment is due.
ACCURACY OF INFORMATION
Cruisescene maintains a high level of cruising intelligence and products are demonstrated to the best of our ability. Information we provide is to the best of our knowledge at the time of research and is "personal opinion" however late notifications (eg. amended itineraries, weather patterns etc) may cause difference in such opinions.
WEBSITE
Cruisescene's website is a guide to assist customers finding a cruise or cruise related product or service. Cruisescene may not be held responsible for 'outages' or any malfunction of its operation or security of any files transferred between the user an the site.
The information on the site is updated as regularly as we can however we can not be held responsible for items appearing that have expired, sold out or no longer available for any other reason.
Like visiting any internet site, users should be aware that certain material may offend and usage of websites is done at the sole responsibility of the user.
ITINERARY CHANGES/CANCELLATIONS
From time to time, and for various reasons an itinerary may be amended or cancelled with or without notice. This may occur (especially during poor weather) during the cruise itself and we are not notified.
Cruisescene will afford customers - when we can - information of any changes to an itinerary up until the day of departure provided we have been notified. Cruisescene can not be held responsible for failure to release such information if (a) we haven't been notified, or (b) your journey has commenced by departing your home port.
CHARTER & EXCLUSIVE PRODUCTS
From time to time, Cruisescene will be involved in promoting and selling Chartered and Exclusive products, namely ships and cruises.
These special products are organised by wholesalers/buying groups and marketed at the sole discretion of those organisations for which Cruisescene is a member.
Cruisescene is not involved nor is it responsible for the pricing of such products however acts as an agent demonstrating the product or service, at a price determined by the organisation.
PRICING & RARE/LAST MINUTE OFFERS
From time to time, a wholesaler or buying group may release a Special to fill remaining cabins of a ship, less expensively than originally advertised. And/or, it may promote a product in association with, or offer a free product or service complimenting, another.
These offers are for NEW bookings only (or as described by the advertiser) and regrettably can not be offered or transferred to existing bookings held with Cruisescene.
Cruisescene can not be held responsible for any grief or hardship caused if a product or service is re-advertised at a lesser price than the original ad in order for the wholesaler or group to fill cabins nor can it make compensation to a customer where a 'free product' or service has been included in the promotion once their booking is in place with us.
WEATHER
Passengers should research weather conditions for themselves.
Whilst Cruisescene can describe general weather patterns and seasons around the world, it is important customers understand the types of climates they'll experience during their travel.
Customers that experience late changes in itineraries due to weather conditions are instructed on board ship. Generally, cruise lines will compensate by adding a night to another port or by visiting a different port as consolation.
There is little or no compensation available for an itinerary being changed when it's done in the best (safety) interests of passengers.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
We encourage all passengers to consider travel insurance and offer assistance in acquiring it. We will however require you to officially ACCEPT or DECLINE an offer of travel insurance and the decision will be recorded in your agreement.
ORGANISING YOUR OWN AIR TRAVEL
If it's likely you'll take care of your own air travel, it may be required that cruise lines and/or wholesalers receive a copy of your documentation as proof purchase of such.
Passengers intending purchasing air travel independently once purchased a cruise or related product, will NOT be refunded the cruise content in the event flights are not available.
AGREEMENT - CONTRACT OF PASSAGE/SALE
Passengers making a deposit on cruise and travel related products with Cruisescene do so on the basis he/she and their party agree and accept the terms and conditions described here, by DBT and those described by cruise liners and wholesalers in their own terms and conditions.
A deposited sale is an indication that you've read, and understand such terms and conditions and that you intend to proceed with the purchase of products and services offered by Cruisescene. You also agree to pay final payment as due and understand a reservation may be cancelled if you fail to meet this commitment.
REFUNDS POLICY
Deposits for travel and cruising incur a 100% cancellation fee.
In the event passengers find themselves unable to travel for what ever reason, Cruisescene will assist by providing passengers and travel insurance companies with adequate documentation relating to your travel, in a timely fashion.
